How to Create Aesthetic Instagram Content with AI

An "aesthetic" feed isn't about being artsy — it's about being recognisable. When someone scrolls past your post in 0.3 seconds, a consistent visual style is what makes them stop, look again, and remember it was you.

What makes a feed look "aesthetic"

A cohesive feed comes from repeating a small set of visual rules, not from posting beautiful random images. The four levers:

  • Colour palette — 3–4 colours used consistently across every post.
  • Composition style — the same layout logic (centred, flat-lay, text-forward, product-focused).
  • Typography — 1–2 fonts used the same way in every graphic.
  • Mood or lighting — bright and airy, moody and warm, minimal and clean.

Step 1 — Define your palette once

Pick a primary colour, a neutral, and an accent. If you have brand colours already, use them. If not, base the palette on what your products or photos naturally look like. Write this palette down — it becomes the single instruction that keeps every AI-generated post on-brand.

Palette roleShare of feedExample
Primary~60%Deep green backgrounds, frames
Neutral~30%Warm cream, off-white
Accent~10%Coral or gold for CTAs and highlights

Step 2 — Give AI a visual style guide

AI image tools produce far better results when your style is described precisely. A strong prompt template:

"[Subject]. [Composition]. [Colour palette]. [Lighting/mood]. [Brand elements]. Space for a short headline."

For example: "A product flat-lay of handmade soap on a cream linen cloth, top-down composition, warm beige and sage green palette, soft natural window light, small logo in the bottom-right corner, negative space at the top for text."

Repeat the same palette words in every prompt. That repetition is what makes the feed feel unified.

Step 3 — Plan the feed grid, not just single posts

People view your profile as a 3×3 grid. Before generating, sketch a 9-post plan with alternating content types so colours and formats flow into each other:

  • Row 1: educational quote → product shot → how-to carousel cover
  • Row 2: behind-the-scenes → customer result → promotional post
  • Row 3: tip → story-style post → clear CTA

Generate the whole 9-post batch at once so you can check the grid before anything goes live.

Step 4 — Keep text minimal and consistent

Instagram rewards clean, readable text over clutter. Use one font for headlines, keep it to 3–5 words, and reserve a consistent spot for it (top third or centre). AI tools that bake your logo and colours into images handle this for you automatically.

Roosbot pulls your logo and palette straight from your brand profile, so every generated image already carries them instead of you re-typing colour codes into each prompt. It's also built for the 9-grid step above: when a row calls for a carousel, you can plan the whole multi-slide set at once and it keeps the same composition style, palette, and mood across every slide, so a 5-slide how-to doesn't drift in tone by slide 3.

How AI keeps it sustainable

Manually maintaining an aesthetic means recreating the same style decisions every time you post — exhausting, and easy to abandon. With AI, your palette and style live in one brand profile. Every post comes out matching. That's what turns a one-week aesthetic into a year-long brand identity.

The formula: palette + composition + font + mood, applied to every post, checked as a 9-grid before publishing. Do that and your feed looks intentional — because it is.
