How to Use Roosbot to Build a Multi-Platform Social Media Strategy
This is a practical walkthrough — not a marketing overview. If you've just signed up for Roosbot or you're evaluating it, this guide shows you exactly what to do from first login to first published post.
Step 1: Set up your brand workspace
Each brand in Roosbot lives in its own workspace. When you create a workspace, you go through a brand profiling wizard — you enter what the brand does, who it serves, the products or services, brand voice attributes, visual identity (logo and brand colour), and business goals. This profile is stored and used every time you generate content for that brand.
If you're managing your own business, you create one workspace — for your brand. If you're a marketing team or agency managing multiple brands, you create one workspace per brand. Each is completely separate with its own strategy, calendar, and channel connections.
Take this step seriously. A detailed brand profile leads to much better output than a one-line description. Include specifics: industry terms the brand uses, topics they avoid, competitors, the audience's job title or lifestyle, product pain points, and business goals with priorities.
Step 2: Run the strategy wizard
Roosbot's strategy wizard takes your brand profile and generates a full content strategy. This includes:
- 3–5 content pillars tailored to the brand
- A recommended posting cadence per platform
- Post type mix (educational, promotional, engagement)
- Tone and style guidance
Review the strategy output and adjust anything that doesn't fit. The strategy becomes the foundation for all content generation in that workspace.
Step 3: Connect your social channels
From the Channels section, connect the platforms you're posting to. Roosbot supports LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube. You can connect all five or just the ones relevant to this brand.
The connection is per workspace, so each brand has its own channel set — their LinkedIn stays separate from another brand's LinkedIn.
Step 4: Generate content for each platform
Now you're ready to generate. Go to the content generation page and select a platform. Roosbot will use the strategy you built — including content pillars and tone — to suggest post types and write drafts.
You can generate by pillar (e.g., "generate 3 educational posts about skincare ingredients") or by date (e.g., "generate posts for week 2 of June"). The calendar view shows gaps where content is still needed.
Platform-specific output
Roosbot formats content differently for each platform automatically:
- LinkedIn: 150–250 words, professional-conversational tone, no hashtag spam
- Instagram: Short caption, 5–10 relevant hashtags, Reel ideas where appropriate
- X: Under 280 characters, or a multi-tweet thread for longer ideas
- Facebook: Mid-length, mix of conversational and informational
- YouTube: Video title, description, and tags for the content team
Step 5: Review and assign for approval
Every draft starts in "Draft" status. You can edit it directly in the composer, then move it to "In Review" for a team member or client to approve. Once approved, it moves to the calendar and is ready to schedule.
The default roles are Admin, Editor, and Viewer. Team members with Viewer access can see and comment on drafts without being able to edit or publish.
Step 6: Schedule from the calendar
The visual calendar shows all approved posts across all five platforms in a single month view. Drag posts to different time slots, see gaps, and make sure the mix looks balanced before the month starts.
Once everything is in place, Roosbot publishes posts automatically at the scheduled times. You don't have to be online when they go out.
Managing multiple brands
Switching between brands is a single click from the workspace selector. Each workspace is completely separate — strategies, calendars, channels, and team members don't cross over. If you manage 10 brands, you have 10 workspaces, each with its own setup.
Tip: Build the strategy for each brand before generating any content. Teams that skip the strategy step and go straight to content generation report lower quality output and more editing time.
What to do in month two
After your first month, look at which posts performed best on each platform. Update the brand notes in your workspace with what you learned. The strategy can be adjusted — content pillars can be revised, cadence can be updated, tone notes can be refined.
The more specific your workspace becomes over time, the less editing each draft needs.
